Turns out, Jacob was just as nervous but equally drawn to me, and over the next few days, amidst the pulsing bass and shared pizza, we discovered a connection that transcended the festival and blossomed into something real, something that made being part of the LGBT community feel incredibly special. Now, years later, holding his hand, I realize that facing that initial fear unlocked a love I never knew I deserved.
